Improving the transport network as a factor in ensuring innovative development of the region
Anna Boykova, Munisbek MahmudovThe article examines the role of the transport network as a system-forming factor in the innovative development of a region. The analysis of theoretical approaches to defining innovative development of a region is carried out, the main factors influencing this process are identified, among which a special place is occupied by transport infrastructure, which provides the material basis for the functioning of all sectors of the economy. The authors systematize the directions of the transport network impact on the socio-economic dynamics of the region based on a generalization of the results of econometric studies. The priority directions for improving the transport network are identified: modernization of road infrastructure, integration of modes of transport within transport and logistics complexes, digital transformation of the transport industry, implementation of intelligent transport systems, consideration of spatial externalities and ensuring transport accessibility for all categories of the population. It is concluded that it is necessary to develop new approaches to assessing the impact of transport infrastructure on the innovative development of regions using spatial econometric models and geographic information systems.
