IMPROVING THE OPERATIONAL PROPERTIES OF PARTS MADE OF ALUMINUM ALLOYS

Захаров Сергей, Mikhail Korotkikh

The study objective is to show the variety of possible methods of oxidating aluminum alloy parts, the variety of properties of oxide coatings, and possible rational areas of their application. A comparison of fundamentally different oxidation methods, i.e. anode and microarc ones is given. It is shown that the properties of such coatings can differ fundamentally. The work is based on the experience of industrial electroplating related to various methods of electroplating aluminum alloys and laboratory studies of microarc oxidation. The main conclusion of the paper is the need for broader research on the rational use of various oxide coatings of aluminum alloy parts, depending on their operating conditions.
