(Im)possible Untanglings
Sara C. MottaThis piece journeys with licence as a refusal to be made to account in registers of reason, (political) subjectivity and international politics disciplinarity premised upon our – as racialised and feminised women/femmes – negation and relegation to non-being as flesh: a negation that is at its most destructive when it slices us down the middle with rajarduras that cut at and through our spirits. I (t)race how these entanglements are enmeshed in women/femmes who love women and women/femmes who kill women/femmes and how we might untangle and heal from these as a mode of affirmative exteriority that is inter-species and inter-generational and enfleshes moments and relationalities of fugitive togetherness. I bring meaning, map and visibilise the logics and irrationalities of disciplinarity and IR (political) subjectivity of mastery and possessive (non)belonging and how these are re-produced in their most painful enmeshments through the thousand cuts within our intimacies and/as internal colonisation.
