Glory Katiyar, Shoaib Sayed, Pawan KumarABSTRACT
Gastric teratoma is an extremely rare neoplasm in childhood. A 2-month-old male infant presented with progressive abdominal distension since birth. Clinical examination revealed a large palpable mass and was proceeded with ultrasonography followed by computed tomography (CT) for further evaluation. CT scan revealed a large mass epicentered along the posteroinferior surface of stomach with foci of macroscopic fat and calcification within it. Due to compressive symptoms, child underwent laparotomy, which revealed it to be arising from stomach followed by its complete excision. Histopathological examination confirmed it to be teratoma.
