The concept of the ideal future free gingival margin (IFFGM) translates aesthetic analysis into a practical planning guide, defining a clear aesthetic-biological target before implant placement. By relating the IFFGM to existing tissues, clinicians can select preservative, resective or regenerative strategies. This integrated framework enhances predictability, peri-implant health and long-term aesthetic stability, particularly within the aesthetic zone.
