Editorial Commentary : Patients With Generalized Ligamentous Laxity Recover Slower and Have More Pain but Eventually Achieve Good Outcomes: A Key Message in Preoperative Counseling!

Riley Hemstock, Moin Khan

Abstract

Patients with generalized ligamentous laxity undergoing hip arthroscopy have traditionally been challenging for hip arthroscopists when setting preoperative expectations. Recent literature confirms slower recovery, increased pain, and worse patient‐reported outcomes in the near postoperative period before ultimate normalization in the midterm, providing valuable evidence when counseling patients on the trajectory of their recovery.
