Pi-Health pairs ailment-specific wearables with an AI-backed clinicians’ interface to catch conditions early and cut costly hospital readmissions. Long-term conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, sleep apnoea, atrial fibrillation and COPD now cost health systems an estimated $47 trillion a year worldwide. They account for as much as 89% of emergency admissions and 67% of in-hospital admissions at any time, driving up wait times and reducing bed turnover. Post-pandemic backlogs have added to the strain, with long-term condition readmissions typically occurring within 30 to 40 days of discharge, placing further pressure on the NHS and health systems everywhere.
