Homeopathic resolution of HPV-related perianal warts with high-risk HPV-strains: A case report

Human papillomavirus (HPV) infection is a major etiological factor in cervical dysplasia and related gynecological disorders. Even after surgical management of HPV related cervical disease such as high grade precancerous lesions, cancers and , such as total hysterectomy (TH) with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy (BSO), HPV persistence remains a clinical concern, as a residual or recurrent VaIN/vaginal dysplasia may occur. We reported the case of a patient with high-risk HPV infection who initially presented with abnormal uterine bleeding and was diagnosed with cervical dysplasia. She underwent a robotic hysterectomy with BSO, the patient experienced persistent HPV positivity and reappearance of Perianal warts (condyloma acuminata), underscoring the importance of continued surveillance in HPV-positive individuals. The patient had significant psychological distress, including anxiety and fear of incurability. The patient was subsequently treated with homeopathic medicine, which resulted in the successful resolution of perianal warts and improvement in mental well-being too. This highlighted the potential role of complementary approaches in managing HPV-related disease and associated psychological burden. This case emphasizes role of continued surveillance in HPV HR positive patient’s and also this necessitating ongoing monitoring for recurrence. It also illustrates the integration of homeopathy as a supportive therapeutic modality in addressing both physical and psychological aspects of HPV-related disease.
