History of MSK Section of the Italian Society of Radiology

Abstract

The primary purpose of the authors was to present the history of the MSK Section of the “Italian Society of Radiology,” focusing on the relationship/cooperation between this Section and ESSR. The Italian MSK Section, founded in 1976 by Prof. Carlo Stuart in Siena, takes part in the continuing education of musculoskeletal radiology in Italy, and has always played an active role in the ESSR. Three annual scientific meetings of the ESSR were held in Italy, three past presidents of the ESSR are Italian, and Honorary Membership was awarded to four Italian radiologists.
