Abstract

Antiferroelectric (AFE) ceramic dielectrics are imperative for next-generation energy-storage capacitors because of near-zero remnant polarization. In this work, we construct a new high-entropy antiferroelectric ceramic to synergistically optimize dielectric energy storage by reconstructing the commensurate polarization modulation, thereby delivering an ultrahigh recoverable energy density (Wrec) of ∼14.2 J/cm3 at 71 kV/mm while maintaining a high energy efficiency (η) of ∼84%. In addition, the ceramics deliver remarkable fatigue resistance with stable performance over 105 charge–discharge cycles. This study highlights entropy engineering as a powerful framework for designing high-performance AFE energy-storage ceramics and offers insights for the future development of advanced dielectric capacitors.
