Hidden Curriculum And Character Nursing

Joshua Octavianus Mualim

In higher education, Generation Z faces a campus environment that is a place for character transformation, where traditional values and technology blend. However, implementing the hidden curriculum in a military education environment like Akpol is not free from various challenges. This study aims to analyse how the hidden curriculum at the Police Academy shapes the character and values of Generation Z in the process of transforming into prospective police officers. The results of the study show that the hidden curriculum at the Semarang Police Academy plays an essential role in shaping the character of Generation Z through implicit norms, social interactions, and military routines that instil the values of discipline, loyalty, integrity, and collective responsibility. In conclusion, Generation Z often shows resistance due to their values of freedom, transparency, and digital technology. Still, an adaptive approach through dialogue, role models, and emotional support can bridge these value differences. The challenges lie in rigid hierarchies, a culture of masculinity, and psychological pressure without adequate mental support.
