Graduate Forestry Programs at Lakehead University: A historical perspective

Ashley Thomson, Brian McLaren, QingLai Dang, Brigitte Leblon

The Faculty of Natural Resources Management currently offers three graduate degrees: the Master of Science in Forestry (MScF), a course-based Master’s program, and a PhD program. Since 2023, the course-based Master’s program has been embedded in TRANSFOR-M, an innovative two-year dual-degree Master’s program between Canada and Europe. Starting this year, both the M.Sc. and Ph.D. students will benefit from an international training program FORSCALE, which includes an abroad stay and thesis co-supervision with the University of Freiburg (Germany).
