Global Research Trends in g-C3N4-Supported Catalysts for Sustainable Hydrogen Production
Bedirhan Yılmaz, Burak Can Çelik, Hüseyin Elçiçek, Asım Sinan Karakurt The increasing global energy crisis has become one of the most urgent issues of our time and has led to the search for sustainable alternatives to traditional fuels. Among the various alternative fuels under investigation, hydrogen is emerging as a promising solution due to its zero carbon emissions, high energy potential and the fact that it can be produced from renewable resources. Green hydrogen production plays a crucial role in the decarbonization of energy systems and stands out as one of the most promising alternative fuels for achieving a sustainable and low-carbon future. In this context, the development and selection of efficient catalysts are of paramount importance, as they directly affect the hydrogen yield, reaction kinetics, and overall process sustainability. This study provides valuable insights into recent advancements in g-C3N4 based catalyst research by conducting a comprehensive bibliometric analysis, which offers valuable insights into publication trends, leading contributors, and emerging research hotspots. The results of bibliometric studies have often been focused on the improvement of the efficiency of the catalysts in use. As a result of the research, it is revealed that especially the studies conducted in Far Eastern countries such as China and India have been pioneers in these issues. The bibliometric studies show the studies carried out so far, the studies to be carried out in the future and the issues that have not yet gained enough importance. These insights not only map the existing knowledge base but also identify gaps and opportunities for future studies. It is predicted that there are not enough studies in the field of green hydrogen carriers such as NaBH4 in the literature, but this issue will gain much more importance in the coming years.
