Genetics and Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity (EHS)

Michael Bevington, Chair of Trustees at Electrosensitivity-UK, explains how our genes and genetic variants can make us sensitive to electromagnetic fields (EMFs), and how EMFs can change our genetic make-up. Human DNA contains about 3.2 billion base pairs. These genes are shared by most people, but about 0.1 % or 3.2 million are different or variants. These variants determine physical traits including skin tone and eye colour, relevant to a person’s level of sensitivity to EMFs.
