Genetic Diversity Among Different Genotypes of Prosopis cineraria Druce.

V. Manga, David Sen
Forty genotypes of Prosopis cineraria Druce., collected from different districts of Rajasthan, Gujarat and Haryana were subjected to D2 analysis. Based upon D2 values, genotypes could be grouped into eleven, clusters, Cluster I was the largest cluster and consisted of 15 genotypes from different districts, while clusters VI, VIII, IX, X and XI had one genotype each. Genotypes with high dry shoot weight, taller seedlings and higher values for collar diameter were grouped into clusters VII, IX and XI, while clusters III, V and I had smaller seedlings and lower values for collar diameter and dry shoot weight. Seedling height was found to be the major contributor towards divergence. Maximum inter-cluster distance was observed between cluster VIII and X, while maximum intra-cluster distance was in cluster I.
