Genetic Analysis of Yield and Quantitative Traits in Common Bread Wheat (Triticum Aestivum L.)
Anil Kumar, Sanjeet KumarThe wheat breeding experiment was conducted at agriculture research farm of Kulbhaskar Ashram P.G. College, Prayagraj (U.P.) during Rabi Seasons of 2020-21 and 2021-22 to study of the Genetic Analysis of Yield and Quantitative Traits in Common Bread Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.). 24 parents of wheat; C-306, Unnat Halna, PBW-226, PBW-502, UP-2382, PBW-550, DBW-16, DBW-17, WH-542, WH-711, HD-2687, WCW-95-3, WCW-95-2, WCW-98-41, PBW-175, UP-2425, Raj-3765, HD-2329, PBW-590 and UP-2338 were used as line while WH-1021, PBW-343, Halna and PBW-373) were used as tester. All the parents and their eighty (80) F1s, obtained by crossing in line x tester were evaluated during Rabi Seasons of 2020-21 and 2021-22 for grain yield per plant and related traits which were analyzed in randomized blocks design with 3 replications. On the basis of overall performance parents PBW175, PBW373, UP2425, UP2338 and PBW502 were found good general combiner for yield per plant and gluten content with some other characters also which may improve yield as well as chapatti quality. Cross combinations PBW226xPBW373, PBW502xPBW343, WH542xhalna were common for grain yield per plant and gluten content which can improve chapatti quality with grain yield.
