Simran Sandhu, Ruchi Soni, Arshdeep KaurAbstract
An 11-year-old girl presented with persistent coughing, vomiting, and inability to swallow without identifiable organic pathology. Psychosocial stressors and behavioral reinforcement suggested Functional Neurological Symptom Disorder presenting as functional dysphagia. Multidisciplinary biopsychosocial management led to gradual recovery, highlighting the importance of early psychiatric evaluation in unexplained pediatric swallowing difficulties.
