From Synonyms to Solutions: Translating Therapeutic Alliance for Medical Specialties and Human Factors

This work explores existing measures of Therapeutic Alliance (TA) employed within the psycho-oncology space and attempts to translate these into equivalent terms from Human Factors (HF) literature based on their underlying constructs and items. In doing so, this effort aims to bridge the technical language barrier, which serves as an obstacle to more multi-disciplinary approaches to the topic of TA. Based on these initial insights three key questions in need of consideration surrounding TA are presented, in addition to three research and three practical recommendations for moving forward.
