From Global Competence to Plurilingual Assessment: A Pilot Study

Abstract

This chapter presents three specific tasks that were designed in the context of a pilot study aimed to develop a plurilingual test. The tasks are based on three specific scales included in the Companion Volume of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages by the Council of Europe. They involve three particular skills connected with the notion of plurilingual competence: plurilingual comprehension, plurilingual production, and cross-linguistic mediation. The chapter includes a description of the rationale and design of each of the tasks as well as some comments on the outcome of their piloting.
