From Burnout to Balance: Cultivating Joy with Blockchain in High-performance Environments
Ashish Saxena, Sudhanshu Singh, Neerav Verma, Shubhi RathiThe quick proliferation of globalisation and digital technologies has changed the modern workplace to be a continuously connected environment, which often blurs the boundary between work and personal life. Consequently, employees, especially those in technology-related roles, are increasingly exposed to stress, emotional exhaustion, and burnout. Such problems endanger not only the individuals’ well-being but also the organisations’ productivity, innovation culture, and employee retention. In response to these issues, we introduce a blockchain-powered employee well-being framework aimed at creating emotionally supportive and psychologically safe workplaces. The framework revolves around four fundamental pillars – value creation, interoperability, connectivity, and security and privacy (VICS) – and is enhanced through smart contracts and tokenisation. The smart contracts in the system guarantee the equitable and automatic distribution of wellness benefits, and tokenisation serves as a means of motivating positive health-related behaviours and ongoing employee engagement. One of the most important elements of the framework is that employees are allowed to own and have the authority over their personal wellness information. They can thus participate in a manner that preserves their privacy and is in line with data protection standards. The proposed framework is a departure from typical health programmes towards a transparent, trust-based, and technology-enabled ecosystem that not only makes the organisation more resilient but also helps to maintain the psychological and emotional well-being of the employees in the long run.
