the article addresses the transition from a static graphical representation of business processes for developing object-specific technical documentation for railway automation and remote control systems, described in BPMN, to a dynamic simulation model implemented in GPSS Studio. To solve this problem, a working BPMN alphabet was formed, comprising the elements required to describe the structure, sequence, and logic of design tasks. Based on this alphabet, a domain-specific library of standard elementary blocks was developed to implement the corresponding business process elements in GPSS Studio. Correspondences between the elements of theworking BPMNalphabet and the library blocks were established, which made it possible to form a target alphabet and define rules for transforming the source diagram. Using the developed library, a structural diagram of the simulation model for the development of the graphical part of design documentation for station railway automation and remote control systems was constructed. Based on the structural diagram, the program code of the simulation model is generated automatically while preserving the logic and structure of the original BPMN diagram. The main result of the study is a methodology for the formalized transition from a BPMN diagram to a GPSS model of the design process. The simulation program generated from the structural diagram enables the model to proceed to verification and validation procedures and provides a basis for conducting simulation experiments aimed at investigating design processes.
