FIRE TRAINS, THEIR DEVELOPMENT PROSPECTS AND APPLICATION
Igor Malygin, Alexander Tarantsev, Dmitriy ShupnevThe article substantiates the relevance of the research caused by the development of the railway network, the increase in the number of fires in rolling stock and railway infrastructure facilities, the development of new fire extinguishing technologies, as well as the construction of high-speed railways in Russia. A brief reference is given regarding the history of the development of fire trains and their structural and layout schemes in modern conditions. Information is provided on new fire extinguishing technologies, such as the use of fast-setting foam, temperature-activated water, and others. The necessity of their application in modern conditions is substantiated due to the development of a network of high-speed highways in Russia, an increase in the number of natural and technospheric fires at railway facilities, where emergencies and fires are most dangerous. The main tactical and technical requirements for prospective fire fighting trains are formulated, which should ensure prompt provision of primary medical care in case of accidents, as well as be able to operate in tunnels in conditions of smoke. It shows the importance of fire fighting trains in modern conditions and the need for their further improvement, taking into account new fire extinguishing technologies and the prospects for the development of a high-speed highway network in the country. The basic information about the tactics of using advanced fire fighting trains is given.
