Fibrolipoma of nasal tip: a patient with bulbous tip deformity

Bulbous tip deformity of the nose is one of the common nasal tip deformities. In general, it is thought to occur due to an increased tip volume which alters the tip dynamics. Rarely does any tumour arising from the nasal tip produce a voluminous tip. Fibrolipoma is a rare variety of lipoma that can occur at the nasal tip and it can be suspected clinically during palpation of the nasal tip due to its altered consistency. While traditionally, removal of excess soft tissue overlying lower lateral cartilages and cephalic trimming followed by tip-defining sutures are the key steps to correct any bulbous tip deformity, in the case of nasal tumours like this fibrolipoma, only excision restores the tip architecture.
