Abstract:

Theranostics has revolutionized the contemporary sciences and healthcare services, as it is a novel modality of simultaneously achieving two distinct functions of therapeutic and diagnostic within a single device. The different therapeutic applications examined herein include environmental monitoring, medicine in space, and improving drug formulations. Notable successes have been demonstrated through multi-functional nanocarriers, capable of detecting and removing environmental pollutants simultaneously. They can be utilized in detecting pollutants by adsorption onto the carbon-based structures. Nanotechnology and molecular diagnostics are basic pillars that assist in achieving diagnostic accuracy and treatment specificity through theranostic systems in approaches to disease pathogenesis and environmental contamination. The significance of these self-regulating feedback-mediated systems, which are known to respond to biological signals (biomarkers) to elicit targeted therapy, is highlighted, and the most important application of theranostics in pharmaceutical industries, along with mechanistic considerations, is discussed, including a new therapeutic strategy. These are advancements in theranostics strategy, bio-electric signals, immunomodulation, and new therapeutic agents. The convergence of theranostics with customized health care and green practices will bring new ideas for new drug formulation and eco-friendly therapies, ultimately bringing better health and a green world.
