Features of motor ability development in older preschool children

Margarita Muhina

The purpose of the study is to identify the features of motor ability development in older preschool children. Research methods: theoretical analysis and synthesis of scientific literature, program and regulatory documents regulating preschool physical education, pedagogical control tests, a pedagogical experiment, and methods of mathematical statistics were used. Research results and conclusions. It was established that the diversity of physical education content through elements of sports does not create favorable conditions for the timely formation in children in the fifth–sixth years of life of vital motor skills in leg movements, balance, climbing, and jumping, as well as the development of dexterity, static strength, differentiation of muscle efforts, and spatial parameters. The implementation of concentrated physical education, both with basic content and in combination with elements of sports, allows conditions to be created in the fifth year of children's life for optimal (in accordance with sensitive periods) development of motor abilities, and in the sixth–seventh years – for optimal and advanced (increasing the level of motor ability development in established periods of slowed growth) development.
