ABSTRACT

Carbon dioxide (CO 2 ), a significant greenhouse gas and energy substance, necessitates separation from flue gas to mitigate production costs and environmental impact. This study details the fabrication of bio‐inspired network‐like OH‐TiO 2 ‐PDMS/polysulfate composite hollow fiber gas separation membranes via internal coating for CO 2 separation from flue gas. Gas separation performance was assessed across varying polysulfate, titanium precursor, and polydimethylsiloxane solution concentrations. Flow field simulations analyzed velocity and pressure fields within the composite membrane, and long‐term stability and tensile properties were evaluated. Results revealed a CO 2 permeance of 2250 GPU (1 GPU = 1 × 10 −6  cm 3 (STP)/cm 2 ·s·cmHg) and a CO 2 /N 2 selectivity of 54.3. The membrane exhibited robust acid and alkali resistance, maintaining stable operation under acidic and alkaline conditions. These results indicate that the bio‐inspired network‐like OH‐TiO 2 ‐PDMS/polysulfate hollow fiber composite membrane is a promising candidate for CO 2 /N 2 separation. The present data were obtained at 25°C under elevated feed pressures (up to 20 bar) and with a binary CO 2 /N 2 mixture; further tests at 1–3 bar, elevated temperature, and multi‐component flue gas remain necessary.
