Objective. To analyze the outcomes of active creative engagement among patients with idiopathic scoliosis in the early phase of medical rehabilitation. Material and methods. The study included 15 patients (7 males and 8 females) diagnosed with idiopathic scoliosis (ICD-10 code M41) and identified with functional impairments as per section b1521 (Regulation of emotion) of the International Classification of Functioning. The projective technique titled «Picture of Health and Disease» was used for this study. Both qualitative and quantitative analyses of the color choices and thematic content in the patients’ artwork were conducted. Results. The findings revealed distinctive characteristics in how this patient group visualized their internal experience of illness and the notion of health. Analysis of the color components highlighted a preference for specific colors linked to their perceptions of disease and well-being. Additionally, the plot analysis of the drawings facilitated the identification of prevailing themes and symbols that encapsulate their emotional responses related to the diagnosis, physical sensations, and treatment journey. Conclusion. Evaluating the creative activities of patients with idiopathic scoliosis can provide valuable insights into their condition and inform the development of tailored medical rehabilitation strategies.
