Abstract

Dowling-Degos disease (DDD) is an uncommon autosomal dominant disorder, typically identified by the development of acquired reticular hyperpigmentation in areas of skin folds. DDD is a genodermatosis, with fewer than 100 cases recorded in medical literature. To our knowledge, there have been only two documented occurrences of DDD reported in individuals from Saudi Arabia. We present a unique case involving a Saudi patient displaying isolated hyperpigmented macules localised in the axillae, groins, and lower abdomen, histopathologically confirmed to be Dowling-Degos disease. This case is accompanied by a review of reported instances in Saudi Arabia.
