Evaluation of Three Different Calcium Silicate-Based Repair Materials in Terms of Microleakage: In Vitro Study

Yağmur Kılıç, Mustafa Mert Tulgar
Aim: To evaluate and compare the sealing ability of three different calcium silicate-based materials (MTA Angelus, Bio-C Repair, and TotalFill BC RRM Fast Set Putty) in furcation perforation repair using spectrophotometric microleakage analysis. Materials and Methods: Sixty dentin discs, 2.5 mm thick, were prepared from extracted human maxillary molars. Standardized furcation perforations (1.6 mm diameter) were created and the specimens were randomly assigned to three groups (n=20): Group 1, MTA Angelus; Group 2, Bio-C Repair; and Group 3, TotalFill BC RRM Fast Set Putty. Following material placement and a 24-hour incubation period, microleakage was assessed using a 2% methylene blue dye penetration test for 48 hours. The specimens were dissolved in 65% nitric acid, and absorbance values were measured at 550 nm using a UV/Vis spectrophotometer. Data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA and Tukey’s post-hoc tests with a significance level of p
