Evaluation of Spatial Accessibility and Dynamic Regeneration of Industrial Heritage from the Perspective of the Continuity of Historical and Cultural Cities—A Case Study of Handan City
Xin Liu, Feihua YuanHandan’s industrial heritage flows from the history of the ancient capital into modern industrial civilization, serving as a vital medium for urban transformation and the preservation of the city’s cultural legacy. However, constrained by inadequate transportation infrastructure and insufficient integration with historical resources, this industrial heritage exhibits low accessibility and limited development potential. From the perspective of the continuity of the historical and cultural city, this study aims to evaluate the accessibility characteristics of industrial heritage in Handan. Based on road network data, industrial heritage POIs, and the cultural relics protection units of POIs, the GIS network analysis method is employed to assess the overall accessibility of various transportation modes within Handan. Subsequently, from a micro-network perspective, it measures and analyzes both the road network accessibility of the industrial heritage sites and the accessibility between individual heritage sites. The findings reveal that the accessibility of Handan’s industrial heritage follows a “central–peripheral” hierarchical pattern. The central urban area and the Fengfeng Mining District demonstrate strong short-term coverage capacity and superior accessibility, whereas the western mountainous region exhibits relatively low accessibility due to topographical constraints. The accessibility potential of the eastern road network remains difficult to translate into synergistic advantages. Accordingly, a multi-level adaptive strategy for zoned conservation and regeneration is developed, providing a spatial analytical basis for the dynamic regeneration of industrial heritage and the coordinated conservation of historical and cultural resources.
