Erinnerungen an Helmuth Plessner

Abstract

Memories of Helmuth Plessner. In the text below, I present some personal memories of Plessner as experienced during a period of study under him in the year 1960 – 61 in Göttingen. With a certain hesitation, I attach a few remarks regarding the image of Plessner’s personality that emerges from this. Finally, I ask how Plessner’s character is reflected in his work, both in general and specifically in his Limits of Community ( Grenzen der Gemeinschaft ).
