High‐gain optical amplifiers are critical for extending transmission capacity in optical communication and signal processing systems. We demonstrate a micro‐waveguide amplifier based on an erbium‐doped lithium niobate‐on‐insulator (Er:LNOI) platform. Under bidirectional pumping at 1480 nm, the amplifier achieves a fiber‐to‐fiber net gain exceeding 28 dB at 1531 nm with an input signal power of −25 dBm and a noise figure of 5.3 dB. The device also delivers a maximum output power exceeding 15 dBm. This fiber‐to‐fiber net gain represents the highest value reported for erbium‐doped integrated waveguide amplifiers among all platforms to date, demonstrating that micro‐waveguide geometry on the lithium niobate platform offers a promising architecture for high‐gain amplifiers in integrated photonic systems.
