Epidemiology and diagnostic methods of microbial keratitis

This review presents epidemiological data on the prevalence, incidence, and main risk factors of microbial keratitis (MK). The study considers the main methods of ophthalmological and laboratory diagnosis, as well as their capabilities, sensitivity, and specificity. The review analyzes the challenges in the etiological diagnosis of MK to determine the optimal approach.
