Endoprosthetics for benign tracheal stenosis

Evaluation of the effectiveness of endoscopic bougienage and endo-prosthetics in the complex treatment of patients with benign tracheal stenosis. Material and methods. The results of treatment of 87 patients for the period 2014—2019 were analyzed. The main causes of RCT were tracheostomy (40.2%) and prolonged mechanical ventilation (54%). All patients underwent CT scans and tracheobronchoscopy (TBS). The degree of tracheal narrowing was assessed using the Parshin classification (2011) based on CT data and intraoperative measurements. Results. Tracheal stenting with endoprosthetics proved to be effective in 46.2% of patients, lasting for 12 months. The most frequent complication of tracheal stenting was stent migration and granulation tissue growth, which were observed in 33.3% of cases. Conclusion. Tracheal stenosis bougienage with subsequent endoprosthetic re-canalization of the zone for a period of 6 to 12 months can be both an independent method of treatment, and can be used as a preparatory stage for radical surgery.
