Empowering Innovation Through Collective Leadership: Community-Driven Approaches in Education

Nidhi Jhawar, Barkha Agrawal, Ritu Mishra

Innovation in education is no longer confined to the vision of an individual visionary; it is a mutual endeavour demanding the contribution of all the community members of a learning ecosystem. This chapter is an attempt to investigate the role of community-driven, collaborative leadership models in assisting and encouraging innovation in educational systems globally. Relying on participative and transformational leadership theories, this chapter explores how to build accountability, momentum, and certainty for innovation by bringing together the local communities, families, students, and educators. It emphasizes the significance of ethnic relevance, decision support, and institutional adaptability in the execution of sustainable change. This chapter presents a foundation for community-focused innovation leadership using a qualitative approach, such as global case studies and action-based narratives. It proposes that for educational reforms to be more impactful, resilient, and flexible, collaborative distributed leadership is required. The conclusion of this chapter provides effective methodologies to nurture innovation that focuses on the vision and issues of local communities by institutional and educational leaders.
