Efficient Oxidative Cross‐Coupling of Sulfonylhydrazides With Phosphites for the Synthesis of Phosphorothioates

ABSTRACT

An oxidative cross‐coupling reaction of aryl sulfonohydrazides with phosphite in the presence of I ₂ and K ₂ CO ₃ has been demonstrated to synthesize phosphorothioate derivatives. The metal‐free protocol offers a cost‐effective and practical strategy for the construction of phosphorus–sulfur bonds with broad functional group compatibility, affording the desired products in good to high yields. The operational simplicity, radical pathways, mild conditions, and broad applicability are the notable advantages of this methodology.
