Abstract

Postmicturition dribble (PMD) is the involuntary loss of urine immediately after urination. It is classified as a postmicturition symptom and is more common in males. Conventionally, PMD has been considered to be part of the aging process, to have a low prevalence, and to be less bothersome than other lower urinary tract symptoms. According to the Unani system, Taqṭīr al-Bawl is a disease in which urine is released drop by drop and is often accompanied by pain and a burning sensation. In this case report, a male patient aged 59 years visited the outpatient department of RRIUM, Srinagar, with the complaint of dribbling of urine after urination for the last 1 month. The condition caused a lot of discomfort to the patient, disrupting his daily routine and affecting his quality of life. The patient was treated with Maʿjūn Kundur 5 g twice a day with warm water for 45 days, with three follow-ups excluding baseline. In this study, a significant improvement in the frequency and severity of PMD ( Taqṭīr al-Bawl) was noted at the end of the study. This study revealed that Maʿjūn Kundur may be effective in the management of PMD ( Taqṭīr al-Bawl) .
