Effects of B ₄ C content on the microstructure and mechanical properties of B ₄ C/7075Al composites fabricated by semi-solid stir casting

Preheating of B ₄ C powders and semi-solid stir casting suppress the deleterious interfacial reaction and improve interfacial wettability, enabling the 20 vol% B ₄ C/7075Al composite to achieve the best balance of hardness, strength, and ductility.
