Effects of an Immune-Tolerance Exosome-Containing Cosmetic Kit and Microneedle Therapy System on Facial Skin Improvement
Ji-Sun Moon, Ji-Young Jang, Jung-Hee LeeThis study evaluated the improvement effects of an immune-tolerant exosome-containing cosmetic kit (Product A) used alone and in combination with a microneedle therapy system (MTS, Product B) on facial skin texture, brightness, elasticity, and density. A total of 21 healthy adults (2 males, 19 females; mean age 49.76±11.35 years) participated in a 4-week split-face comparative trial. Product A, a kit composed of a freeze-dried immune-tolerant exosome powder and an activator, was applied to the whole face once daily after cleansing, and Product B, a microneedle roller, was additionally applied to the left half of the face once daily. Facial texture (Texture small), brightness (intensity), elasticity (V3), and skin density (Density) were measured at baseline and after 4 weeks using ANTERA 3D, VISIA-CA, Cutiscan CS100, and DUB-SkinScanner, respectively, under standardized conditions (22±2°C, 50±5% relative humidity). Statistical analyses included the Shapiro-Wilk test for normality, paired t-tests or Wilcoxon signed-rank tests for within-site pre-post comparisons, and within-subject comparisons of the changes (Δ) between the two sites. In the A+B area, texture decreased from 8.58±1.49 to 7.58±1.29 (p<.01), brightness increased from 160.54±6.22 to 164.99±7.00 (p<.05), elasticity increased from 48.41±11.24 to 70.50±10.09 (p<.001), and density increased from 9.13±2.18 to 10.54±1.87 (p<.05). All four indices improved significantly in both areas, with significantly greater improvements in the A+B area than in the A-only area (p<.05). No adverse events were observed. These results suggest that the immune-tolerant exosome kit improves facial skin indices and that concurrent MTS use may enhance its skin-improving effects, although the absence of an MTS-only control should be considered when interpreting the additive effects.
