Effects of a worksite health promotion program on cardiometabolic risk factors among healthcare workers in Taiwan

To evaluate the effects of a 12-week worksite health promotion program on cardiometabolic risk factors among healthcare workers.
Methods:
A non-randomized controlled trial was conducted in Taoyuan, Taiwan (2019–2021), comparing an intervention group receiving active appointment surveillance and physical training referrals with a control group receiving conventional health education, with measurements taken at baseline and 12 weeks.
Results:
Among 94 eligible participants, the intervention group showed significant reductions in waist circumference, body mass index, blood pressure, fasting plasma glucose, gamma-glutamyl transferase, and lipid profiles compared with the control group.
Conclusion:
The 12-week worksite health promotion program effectively improved cardiometabolic risk factors and may enhance healthcare worker wellness.
