Marissa Cisneros-Perez, Joseph Hernandez, Jennifer Lomas, Maricela Passmore, Mariela A. Rodríguez

This chapter explores the wellbeing of educational leaders enrolled in a doctoral program in the United States. Four Ph.D. students are part of a cohort model in their doctoral program. Having stressful positions as campus and district leaders in addition to the responsibilities required for success in a Ph.D. program, it is important for them to share experiences for positive wellbeing. The authors provide sincere recommendations regarding activities that have proved supportive for them including relying on their cohort-mates, creating supportive relationships, and making time for family. At the end of the chapter, the students’ faculty advisor offers a mentoring model that encapsulates the importance of mentoring relationships with students to maintain wellbeing.
