Effects Dynamic Identification and Serviceability Check for Cable-Stayed Pedestrian Bridges

Deha Peker, Fuat Aras, Gülay Altay
In this study, the dynamic behaviour of cable-stayed Taşdelen Pedestrian Bridge (TPB) is comprehensively investigated through both analytical and experimental approaches. The dynamic properties, specifically dominant frequencies and modes shapes, were identified through both finite element analyses (FEA) and operational modal analyses (OMA). The performed evaluation between the FEA-based predictions and OMA-derived real properties proved the capability of the constructed numerical model to predict the existing dynamic properties of the bridge. Finally, the ambient accelerations have been used to control its vibration serviceability. The dynamic identification processes and the serviceability control are intended to contribute to future studies involving the seismic analysis, vibration assessment, and structural health monitoring of similar bridge structures.
