Abstract

We evaluated sodium hypochlorite (55,000 ppm) for controlling carbapenem-resistant gram-negative bacilli (CR-GNB) in nursing station handwash basin drains at a high-complexity hospital. Monthly pours variably reduced drain contamination; a synergistic effect with syphon interventions was observed, but sustained CR-GNB eradication was not achieved.
