Effectiveness of Araling Panlipunan Resource Gamified Online System (ARGOS) Using Wordwall.net

Ray Martin O. Benjamin, Joseline M. Santos

This study evaluates the usability, technological acceptance, and effectiveness of the Araling Panlipunan Resource Gamified Online System (ARGOS) in enhancing the academic performance of Junior High School students. To address the scarcity of interactive, competency-aligned resources in Araling Panlipunan, ARGOS was validated by six experts, followed by an evaluation by 25 Araling Panlipunan teachers using the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) and the System Usability Scale (SUS). A quasi-experimental study was then conducted involving 160 students, with 40 participants from each grade level, during the 2025–2026 academic year to measure its effectiveness. Findings indicated high levels of technological acceptance and system usability among both experts and teachers. Pearson's product–moment correlation revealed a weak positive but statistically nonsignificant relationship between the UTAUT and SUS scores, indicating that technology acceptance was not significantly associated with perceived system usability. Moreover, paired-samples t -tests revealed statistically significant improvements between the pretest and posttest scores across all grade levels. These findings suggest that ARGOS has the potential to support interactive and competency-aligned assessment in Araling Panlipunan. The study recommends that schools provide training and institutional support for teachers in developing and implementing gamified assessment tools.
