EFFECTIVE CHARGE AND SPECIFIC HEAT RATIO CALCULATIONS FOR N, O, Ne, Ar, Kr, AND Xe GASES IN PLASMA FOCUS

Yaşar Ay
The effective charge number and specific heat ratio are considered as two important thermodynamic parameters for the plasma focus calculations. In this work, both of them are calculated with respect to plasma temperature ranging from 0 eV to 107 eV by using the corona model for N, O, Ne, Ar, Kr, and Xe gases. Calculated effective charges and specific heat ratios are plotted separately for each gas. Every single plot from these calculations is carefully examined in order to divide the whole temperature range calculations into small temperature ranges so that the best curve-fitting can be achieved for more accurate calculations. The 4th order polynomials are well fitted for curve-fitting, and the corresponding equations with respect to small temperature intervals are found so that these equations can be used in the future calculations of the effective charge and specific heat ratio of the plasma for N, O, Ne, Ar, Kr, and Xe gases. The coefficients from the curve-fittings for each gas are given in the tables. These tables can be used in plasma research for the equations of the desired temperature and gases for the effective charge number and specific heat ratio calculations.
