Effect of Wobble Board-Based Therapeutic Exergaming on Balance Among Community-Dwelling Older Adults

Background:
Aging is associated with balance impairments, increasing fall risk and reducing mobility in older adults. Traditional balance training methods often lack engagement, leading to poor adherence. Examining, which integrates gaming with exercise, has promising results in improving balance and motivation. This study investigated the effect of wobble board-based therapeutic exergaming on balance in community-dwelling older adults.
Materials and Methods:
A single-arm experimental study was conducted with 37 participants aged 60–80 years. Each participant received wobble board-based therapeutic exergaming training for 40 min in six sessions for 2 weeks. Static and dynamic balance were assessed using the Unipedal Stance Test and Lower Quarter Y-Balance Test, respectively, at pre- and immediate post-intervention, post-1 week of intervention, post-2 weeks of intervention, and follow-up at the third week.
