Educational Institutions and Legal Requirements Related to Domestic and Dating Violence

Abstract

Chapter 5 discusses the responsibilities that schools, colleges, and universities have in regard to responding to allegations of abuse as well as to preventing it. Regarding the latter, the chapter discusses legislation that requires dating violence education. While the focus is on the United States, the chapter briefly addresses international efforts that align with the human rights agreements outlined in the Introduction. Additionally, the chapter discussed educational requirements for others institutions, including law, social work, and healthcare.
