Dynamic Configuration Mechanisms and Scenario Responses of Enterprise Digital Resources for Operational and ESG Dual-Objective Performance: A Case Study of a Chinese Property Services Enterprise
Xiangjun Li, Jiaxing ChenThe coordination and dynamic reconfiguration of heterogeneous digital resources are important mechanisms through which enterprises transform digital investment into Operational Performance and ESG Performance. However, existing studies mainly focus on the overall level of digitalization and its performance effects, while the structural positions, transmission paths, and temporal differences in different digital resources remain insufficiently explained. This study uses a large listed property services enterprise in China as a case and develops an integrated framework that combines a BSC–ESG evaluation system, combination weighting, Grey-DEMATEL–ISM–MICMAC structural analysis, and system dynamics. The framework is used to identify the structural roles of heterogeneous digital resources and their performance transmission relationships and to simulate dynamic responses during the baseline period and under different external scenarios. The structural analysis based on expert assessments indicates that Governance Mechanisms and digital resources occupy prominent upstream positions in the influence network. Digital Human Resources and Digital Organizational Resources have high net-relation scores, Governance Mechanisms have the highest centrality, and Innovation Capability occupies a bridging position between resource inputs and modeled performance outcomes. The case-conditioned simulation also yields different response timings for Operational Performance and ESG Performance. ESG Performance improves earlier during resource accumulation, whereas Operational Performance is realized mainly after capabilities are formed. As external constraints change, the roles of resources and capabilities also shift across stages. This study reveals the structural paths and stage-dependent mechanisms through which heterogeneous digital resources are transformed into the dual objectives of Operational Performance and ESG Performance. It also provides an analytical basis for adjusting enterprise digital resource priorities under different conditions.
