Documenting hip hop culture in Naples: Cover artist Gaetano Massa on Neapolitan vernacular, block parties and KRS-One’s notion of edutainment

Gaetano Massa is a photographer based in Naples, Italy. For more than twenty years, he has been photographing the local culture in all its vibrancy. For the Show and Prove segment of this issue Global Hip Hop Studies , together with editor Sina A. Nitzsche, he reflects on his artistic approach, celebrates the unique Neapolitan culture and explains the greater relevance of his documentary photography.
