Divergent Synthesis of Acylated Sulfoximines via Tunable Silver/Rhodium Relay Catalysis with Cyclopropenones

Abstract

An efficacious access to enable dual functionalization of sulfoximines through sequential N-acylation and C–H annulation, employing cyclopropenones as versatile coupling partners, has been disclosed via a silver/rhodium relay catalysis. The transformation begins with Ag(I)-catalyzed N-acylation, affording N-(α,β-unsaturated acyl) sulfoximines in high yields. These products subsequently function as effective directing groups in a Rh(III)-catalyzed C–H annulation under oxidative conditions. This one-pot strategy provides an efficient approach to assembly diverse sulfoximine architectures.
